DOWNEY – The Mexican American Bar Association ("MABA") will hold its 56th Annual Installation of Officers and Awards Gala on Feb. 6 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.  

Maria Ramirez, of Whittier, will be sworn in as President.  Ramirez, who has been a prosecutor for 26 years, is the first Latina Head Deputy in the District Attorney’s Office.

Fellow Deputy District Attorney and Downey resident, Mario Trujillo, who recently announced plans to open Cielo Restaurant & Lounge in Downtown Downey, will return to the Board as Trustee.  

The event will also feature a special performance by two-time Emmy and five-time Grammy award-nominated entertainer, Michael Feinstein.
