DOWNEY – Mayor Luis Marquez is seeking nominations for his “Mayor’s Courage Award,” which recognizes people committed to improving the lives of others in Downey. The award specifically recognizes people “who have exemplified exceptional courage in the face of adversity, performed an outstanding act of generosity or good deed, and/or are determined to make our community and world a better place.”

Honorees will receive a letter of appreciation presented at a City Council meeting.
