November 27, 1990 - December 2, 2021

On Thursday, December 2nd, 2021, Matt Santisteven, a loving son and brother, passed surrounded by his family at the age of 31. Matthew was born on November 27th, 1990. Matt was a graduate of Downey High School class of 2009. Considering himself a “Jack of All Trades,” Matthew attended several classes at Cerritos Community College and Long Beach City College. He learned many skills throughout his life including carpentry, welding, and masonry. He used these skills not only with several jobs, but also giving back to his Community. In 2015, Matthew was awarded Volunteer of the Year by the Downey Rose Float Association where he was a vital volunteer for several years. Matthew also gave his time to St. Pius X – St. Matthias Academy as a groundskeeper.

Matt’s passion didn’t stop there, he was a lover of music of all genres and a self-taught guitar player. He adored fishing, camping, and hunting with friends and family and joined a bowling league with his sister. Matthew made many friends throughout his short life and was known for his eclectic sense of humor. Though he may have been quiet, he was a great and devoted friend to all who got to know him.

Matthew leaves behind his parents Mark & Angel, brothers Eric & Aaron, younger sister Ashley, Grandfather Ed, and many aunts, uncles, & cousins.

A Celebration of Matthew’s life will be held after the Holidays and family will send details after arrangements have been made.
