Dear Editor:When looking through papers of my father, Rudolph Wehking, a letter addressed to John Dennis, editor of the Southeast News, dated Oct. 29, 1973, was discovered. This letter, written by J. Donald Fisher, coordinator, Information Section of Downey Second Century Foundation, commends the paper on its outstanding cooperation and support, especially the historical edition with its generous allocation of news space, pictures and features. In a letter to the Patriot published Sept. 23, 2010, Don Niemand also commends the Patriot for its publication of the local news. Downey is very fortunate to have this news media.
