Linda Golson, a Downey resident since 1951, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 79. Her parents Ralph and Vera Stinson and brother Edward Stinson moved to Downey when they purchased a new home in 1951. Linda attended Downey Elementary, East Jr. High, and Graduated from Downey High School in 1959.
Linda worked for the LA School District and went into business for herself selling sterling silver turquoise jewelry and later selling car accessories. She was a proud member of Downey TOPS Club, Downey Newcomers Club and enjoyed Women’s Bible Studies at Calvary Chapel, traveling, crocheting, quilting, painting, and spending time with dear friends.
She is survived by her husband Gary Golson; son James (Carey) Dufton and daughter Gale (Charles) Farris; stepson Jason (Sunshine) Golson; stepdaughter Kimberly (Greg) Vaessen and grandchildren Cori Bristal, Hailey Farris, Cody Farris, Jeff Cordi, Jacob Golson; and great-grandson Jackson Cordi. Linda will be laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer at Rose Hills.
