Letters to the Editor: Local leadership

Dear Editor:

It was nice to see the picture of Blanca Pacheco standing so proudly next to Catherine Alvarez in the Downey Patriot. Almost as though she’s thumbing her nose and flipping the bird to the citizens of Downey.

Pacheco had only one responsibility as a city council member and that was to serve the interests of the citizens of Downey. She chose not to serve the interests of the citizens of Downey when she chose to fight the recall of Alvarez and then actually promote her to mayor pro tem.

Hopefully all 110,000 residents of Downey,or at least the ones that are eligible to vote, will remember how Pacheco chose to serve her own self interests instead of serving the interests of the people of Downey with the issue of recalling Alvarez. Please remember her actions, citizens of Downey when it comes time to vote.

If Pacheco couldn’t handle her job as a city council member; how in the world can we trust her in a higher political office?

Dear Editor:

When asking why our leaders are leaving, the picture of the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem together in a previous edition just might explain everything.
