Dear Editor: 

Thank you for including Harold Hougland's piece, "How I Avoided Death 3 Times in WWII."

With more and more of our nation's veterans of World War II passing away, their stories must be heard by the rest of us while they're still here. 

They and their generation, from GI Joe to Rosie the Riveter, stopped the tyranny of Adolf Hitler and Japan.
