Dear Editor:

Downey Unified is the best school district in the area: the schools are clean and well maintained; the teachers are excellent; and the sports programs are competitive. Downey high School has the best classrooms I’ve ever seen. 

These are just a few of the reasons why my family moved to Downey. 

School board member Dr. Mark Morris, or “Molesi” as he is known in the Samoan community, was always telling me how great Downey Unified is and that I should move my family h ere. I’m happy I did. Downey is a good place to raise children. 

The current board has done much to reach this high status. That’s why I support D. Mark Morris, Donald LaPlante, Willie Gutierrez and Tod Corrin for re-election to the Downey Unified Board of Education.
