Dear Editor:

I’m happy to hear that the SkillsUSA program is still doing wonders for the students at Downey Unified.

My sister was in the Early Childhood Education program for SkillsUSA her senior year, and because of that she knew at a young age what she wanted as far as a career. Now that she has her degree, she is working with kids and enjoys every minute of it.

Students should take advantage of all the resources their school has to offer because it will benefit them in the long run. It’s great to see so many students being set up for success with programs like these.

Good luck to the Downey Unified students at the competition in Atlanta next month!
