Dear Editor:

City of Downey leaders in the past have been a bit overzealous in placing their names on just about anything that doesn’t move. 

I have a suggestion to eliminate the need for a “Plaque Committee:” let the city leaders pick one or two projects on which to place their names. The remainder should be memorialized as follows: “This project was made possible by the taxpayers of the City of Downey and Measure S.” 

Let’s give credit where credit is due -- if it were not for us taxpayers, none of these projects would be possible!
