Dear Editor:

The Board of the Friends of the Downey City Library are extending to you a personal invitation to come to the library and see what the combined funds from the sale of your donated books and magazines have provided for the children.

Recently your contributions helped purchase a kitchen set with stove, refrigerator and sink. The looks and smiles on the faces of the children show how much they enjoy the new items.

We also want to ask anyone that has books and magazines they would like to donate to bring them in and drop by the children’s section and see the new items that were purchased.

The library is open Monday to Thursday, 10 am to 6 pm, and Friday and Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm.
