DOWNEY -- Leona Fern Hanson passed away July 2 at the age of 90. 

She was born June 10, 1928 in Beach, North Dakota, daughter of Ralph and Magdalena Samules. 
An avid golfer, she was elected president of the Woman's Rio Hondo Golf Club in 1981-1982. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane A. Hanson, and daughters, Terri and Chery. 

She is survived by her son, Dennis D. Hanson.
