In addition, the following members will serve on the club’s board of directors: Michelle Anaya, Jose Cervantes, Jason Cierpiszewski, Howard Friedman, and Jesse Padilla.

The Kiwanis Club of Downey supports community projects such as distributing food for Rancho Los Amigos families in need, Downey’s National Night Out, providing financial support for a local food bank through its Downey Kiwanis Foundation, and its signature project of providing $109,000 in scholarships to our local high school students.

The club raises money for the projects by holding an opportunity drawing and a Casino Night Gala.

“Kids need Kiwanis, in our community and in communities around the world,” said  President Chu. “Our club believes in children and wants to provide all kids with an opportunity to thrive, prosper and grow.”
