Los Angeles – Katherine May Hambrick (Clark), 89, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2015 at UCLA Medical Center after a brief illness. Katherine (Kay) was born in Wellsville, Ohio on March 6, 1926. She moved to California with her family as a teenager. Katherine spent the majority of her lifetime living in the Southeast area in Bell, Downey and Huntington Park. She attended Thomas A. Edison Middle School and Huntington Park High School.

Katherine was a “California Girl” at heart, who loved warm weather, the desert, camping and road trips with her family. She enjoyed dancing, music and she was a voracious reader. Her kind spirit and joyful smile warmed the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind family and friends who will always remember her laughter and generous nature.

She is survived by daughter, Rachel Hambrick; stepdaughters, Cheryl Gittleman and Claudia Hambrick Hughes; stepsons, Jim Hambrick and Russell Hambrick; sister, June Lainer; niece, Susann Lainer and 18 step grandchildren and 22 step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Walter Clark and Leonard Hambrick; and son, Ron Clark.

A private burial at sea will be held next month, followed by a celebration of her life.
