SANTA FE SPRINGS - Head Start, a pre-school program offered to low-income families by the Los Angeles County Office of Education, is now accepting applications for fall 2009.Head Start is free to families and provides early childhood education, health/dental assessments and referrals, healthy meals, mental health counseling, and parent training. Half-day school programs are offered 4-5 days a week. In some areas, full-day programs are available. Only households that meet certain income restrictions are eligible to apply for Head Start.
