DOWNEY - Gus Adolfo Valdez Jr., born on Aug. 12, 1993 in East Los Angeles, passed away April 9. He was 17.A celebration of life will be held April 16 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Downey. He was a senior at Warren High School, where he was a member of the wrestling team. He also enjoyed playing football and spending time with family and friends, and belonged to La Vina Church Youth Group in Downey. He is survived by his parents, Gus Sr. and Naomi Valdez; brother, Joshua; sisters, Priscilla and Irene; grandparents; a great-grandparent; and other family.
