DOWNEY – Caltrans will reduce the Florence Avenue Bridge over I-5 within the cities of Downey and Santa Fe Springs to one lane in each direction starting this weekend.

Starting Sunday, crews will begin two weeks of nighttime work to demolish half of the Florence Avenue Bridge at the I-5 Freeway. The northbound and southbound I-5 will also be closed between I-605 and Norwalk Boulevard every night from 11 p.m.-5 a.m. 

Florence Avenue will be closed to all traffic in both directions, between Studebaker Road and Orr and Day Road, from Sunday, March 5 at 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, March 6. 

Starting on Monday, the street will close nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. for approximately two weeks.
