Five Guys now open at Downey Promenade

DOWNEY – Five guys, a popular hamburger chain that originated on the east coast, has officially opened its newest location within the Downey Promenade.

The Promenade's newest food location officially opened its doors at around 11 a.m earlier today.
A humbly sized ribbon cutting ceremony was held in front of the new location, with Mayor Alex Saab, Councilmember Sean Ashton, Five Guys staff, City staff, and a handful of Chamber of Commerce and Downey Police Department members all in attendance.

A few of the Columbia Memorial Space Center's staff, who neighbor the still developing Promenade, were also invited to attend.

"We're very excited to be here," said Five Guys District Manager Jason Schmidt. "It's a beautiful location. The area is growing, and this is just one more step to build the City of Downey, and Five Guys is excited to be here for it."

Council Member Ashton mirrored the excitement for the opening of the new Five Guys location.

"I'm very happy that they chose Downey to open up their business here," he said. "I've enjoyed Five Guys burgers in the past, and it's now a shorter drive for me to get my Five Guys."
