June 6, 1956 - November 12, 2018

Erica Joan Seelig passed away on November 12, 2018. A lifelong resident of Downey, California, Erica was a student of the world’s enduring pastimes, an excellent cook and baker, an accomplished needlepointer, and a connoisseur of midcentury television and music. Erica taught elementary school for 38 years, most of them at Frank M. Wright Elementary School in El Monte, California. A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend, she survived her father, Robert Mallory Seelig MD, and is survived by her mother, LeNoma Joan Seelig. She is also survived by her sister, Lesley Fry, and her husband Lance, and her brothers Dana, and his wife Cathy, and Scott, and his wife Rocio. Erica had six nieces and nephews especially Courtney Fry, and her husband Jamie Fleet, Whitney Kellaher, and her husband Anthony, and Ian Fry. She is also survived by seven grand nieces and nephews especially Rosalie Erica Kellaher and Harriet Lesley Fleet. Her family will remember her as a compassionate listener, a perfect gift giver, and the kindest and most caring soul. An animal lover, she leaves behind her cats, Lucy, Peanut, Linus, and Sally.
