Edward (Ed) William Brooks

February 16, 1960 - May 28, 2020

Edward (Ed) William Brooks was born on February 16, 1960, in Los Angeles, CA. He passed away on May 28, 2020, in Norwalk, CA. Ed is survived by his son Tyler, who was by his side until the very end, and brothers, Ray Cumberland, Tommy Brooks, and sister Sandy Brooks Houser.
Ed attended Bell High School, where he was an All-Star Athlete, playing Football, Basketball, and Baseball - Football being his favorite. He graduated in 1978.
For many years, Ed owned his own Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning business, and in recent years brought his son Tyler on board to ultimately take over the business.
For the better part of the past 10 years, Ed spent most of his time volunteering for the Warren High School Football Program. Given the title of “Director of Football Operations”, Ed made it his mission to raise as much money as he could to support the Football Program. Some of the fundraising events Ed took charge of were the Snack Shack, the Fireworks Stand, selling ads in the program, securing weekly meal donations from local restaurants for Feed the Bears, just to mention a few. Ed also headed the Annual Football Awards Banquet.
Ed had a generous heart, and became a friend to just about everyone he met. He touched a lot of people’s lives and will be greatly missed by many.
A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be scheduled for a later date. Updates will be posted on Ed Brooks Facebook page.
