Edward Dwight Rigby III

March 17, 1937 – February 2, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Dwight Rigby III, a hardworking and passionate man who dedicated his life to family, adventure, and the open road. Edward passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy of love, grit, and countless memories.

Born on March 17, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, Edward grew up in Oregon before eventually moving to Downey, California, where he built a life rooted in love and hard work. A proud truck driver, Edward had a deep love for the open highway and the freedom it brought. In his spare time, he was a master tinkerer who could often be found under the hood of a car or building dune buggies from scratch—bringing his mechanical talents to life with every project. He had a knack for turning wrenches and a passion for all things on wheels, inspiring those around him with his ingenuity and hands-on spirit.

Married to his wife, Terry, for 46 wonderful years, Edward’s greatest joy was the life they built together. He was a devoted father to five children, a loving grandfather to six grandchildren, and a proud great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Lyman.

Edward’s family and friends will miss him dearly. His life was one of hard work, unwavering love, and an endless pursuit of the next project. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
