DOWNEY - Parents who reside within DUSD boundaries and wish for their child to attend a Downey school outside their attendance area should fill out an application in February during the school district's open enrollment period.Applications will be available at Downey schools beginning Feb. 1. Completed applications should be turned in by Feb. 28. Applications will not be processed on a first-come, first-served basis; instead, a random drawing will be held to place students on a waiting list for the 2011-12 school year. Schools may accept students from the waiting list according to priority, but only if space is available. For more information, call the DUSD Office of Student Services at (562) 469-6554.
