DOWNEY — The Downey Fire Department welcomed eight new firefighter recruits Wednesday. 

The new firefighters, part of Recruit Class 2020: B, includes Jake Bell, Ryan Berklite, Jonathan Dibley, Daniel Duncan, Thomas Foskarino, Alexis Guzman, Marcos Salas-Franco and Jacob Ware. 

The recruits participated in a demonstration at the fire department’s training facility near Independence Park before they took part in a badge pinning ceremony at Fire Station 1.
