DOWNEY – Downey Symphony Orchestra’s Wild West Garden Party fundraiser is Sunday, Sept. 22, from 3:30-7:30 pm (cocktails 3:30-4:30 pm) at the Downey Woman’s Club.

Whether you come in your cowboy boots and hat, denim and rhinestones, or just in country spirit, this will be as special an event as last year’s Phantom of the Opera, which received a standing ovation.

Live country music at its best will be performed by Coyote Moon, playing selected country classics and Americana tunes. A three-course dinner, wine, champagne, live and silent auctions are included.

Coyote Moon is one of the finest country/Americana bands hailing from the vibrant music scene in Southern California.

Coyote Moon is led by the captivating duo of Adrian "Ace" Rice and Lisa De Los Reyes. This talented group has been enchanting audiences for years with their soulful sound and heartfelt lyrics. Peter Freiberger joins them on bass, and John Senne on drums and vocals.

One of the Southland’s most respected musicians is Danny Ott on lead guitar. Ott appears on a number of Dave Alvin’s recordings. He was also a member of Dave Alvin And The Guilty Men, and the legendary Chris Gaffney and the Cold Hard Facts among other groups.

Sharon Lavery, musical director for the Downey Symphony Orchestra, has announced it is celebrating its 66th Season at the Downey Theatre by presenting all of its performances free to the public.

This professional orchestra ensemble has been hailed as one of the best metropolitan orchestras in Southern California, and a legacy Downey nonprofit arts organization. A rare gem unique to the Downey community. Donations are always accepted.
