DOWNEY - Residents are encouraged to help make a difference in the fight against cancer by participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life scheduled June 6-7 at Downey Adult School.More than 600 Downey residents are expected to take turns walking or running around a track to raise money for cancer research, community education, legislative advocacy and patient service programs. The relay continues for 24 hours, beginning at 9 a.m. Local cancer survivors are also invited to a survivor's breakfast June 2.
