DOWNEY — Downey picked up five new coronavirus cases overnight, bringing the city’s total to 84.

L.A. County announced 620 new cases Wednesday, along with 29 new deaths.

Health officials are encouraging residents to shelter at home as the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic is expected to peak either this week or next.
