Downey Police holding greeting card contest for kids

DOWNEY – The Downey Police Department is holding a holiday greeting card contest for kids.

Students are encouraged to submit their designs by Oct. 29. Four winners will be selected and their artwork will be featured on a Downey Police Department greeting card.

Winners will receive a $50 gift card and will be recognized at the city’s tree lighting ceremony Dec. 6.

One winner will be selected from the following grade categories: TK-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12.

Artwork must be on a 11” x 8.5” sheet of paper (landscape format) and labeled on the back with the student’s name, grade and school.

Students should submit their work to their school’s office, the Downey Unified district office, or to the Downey Police Department, 10911 Brookshire Ave. (attention Yvonne Rosales).

Private school students must submit their entries directly to Downey Police.

Winners will be notified the week of Nov. 8. Submissions will not be returned.
