DOWNEY – Rev. Sunshine Daye has been named minister of the Center for Spiritual Living in Downey. 

The church's board of directors approved the appointment in November. 

"Rev. Sunshine is fit for her name," the church said in a statement. "She is a breath of fresh air and lights up a room with her presence. Her energy is inescapable." 

An ordained minister with the Centers for Spiritual Living, Daye serves on the Ministers' Council. She recently completed a tenure at Seaside Center for Spiritual Living in Encinitas, where she was the senior minister for the Wednesday night service. 

She is author of the book "Begin Within -- A Playbook for Living Your Genuine Life." She also has a YouTube channel and hosts a meditation podcast. 

Daye will begin her ministry in Downey on Jan. 1. She will lead Sunday services at 10:30 a.m. 

The church is located at 10000 Paramount Blvd.
