DOWNEY – After a one-year hiatus, Downey’s Dia de los Muertos Art Festival will return Nov. 1, organizers announced.

The festival, now in its seventh year, was not held last fall due to construction work at Downey’s civic center.

This year’s event will follow the same format and presentation as past festivals, organizers said, with three stages of continuous entertainment, and film and dance inside the Downey Civic Theatre.

An additional two outdoor stages will feature music and variety acts.

Festival organizers said they anticipate up to 30,000 guests at this year’s event.
