DOWNEY - Hector De La Torre, who formerly represented Downey in the state Assembly, has been appointed to the Air Resources Board by Gov. Jerry Brown.De La Torre is currently vice president of the Free Conferencing Corporation. His appointment to the Air Resources Board comes with an annual compensation of $40,699. De La Toree served in the State Assembly from 2004-10, and was a councilman in South Gate from 1997-2004. He served as chief of staff to the deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor from 1995-97, was a manager at Southern California Edison from 1996 to 2002, and worked with Los Angeles Superior Court from 2002-04.
