DOWNEY - Richard Daggett, president of the Polio Survivors Group and who spent time inside an iron lung at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, will speak Thursday at 7:30 p.m. inside the John Downey Room at the Barbara J. Riley Community and Senior Center.Daggett's topic will be "Downey, Rancho and Richard." The story is of the polio epidemic of the middle 1900s and the role that Rancho played in the treatment and research related to the disease.
