Crime Report: Week of June 27

Friday, June 17:
Crime Impact officers extra patrolled the downtown area from 8:00 PM until 2:00 AM. They issued 4 traffic citations, 1 municipal code citation, and 1 parking ticket.

At 9:45 PM, officers responded to the “Food For Less” store (13525 Lakewood Blvd) regarding a report of a theft. Store personnel reported that a adult male suspect was confronted by
management for stealing alcohol from the store. The suspect brandished a knife and threatened to kill the manager. The suspect fled the location in a vehicle. The loss was 3 bottles of alcohol. Detectives are investigating.

Saturday, June 18:
At 2:55 AM, officers responded to a residence in the 10600 block of La Renia Ave regarding a
report of a female screaming for help. As officers arrived, they saw a male and female out to the front of the residence; however the male fled on foot. Officers began establishing a perimeter, while discovering that the suspect had physically assaulted his live in girlfriend, causing visible injuries, along with threatening to kill her. An officer and his K9 partner responded to the location to search for the suspect. He was discovered in a neighboring carport area, hiding under a blanket by the K-9 and taken into custody. The suspect was booked for domestic violence.

At 11:00 PM, officers contacted 3 subjects living under the Imperial Hwy bridge at the east city
limits. The subjects left the area and were advised that Cal Trans is going to clean up the area
on June 27.

Sunday, June 19:
At 2:25 AM, officers responded to an “Automated License Plate Reader” (ALPR) stolen vehicle
alert in the Promenade area. Officers located the vehicle to the front of the “Fresh Griller”
restaurant, as a subject was walking away from it. The subject was detained, and the vehicles
keys were located in his pocket. He was arrested for vehicle theft without incident.

At 10:55 PM, a male victim and his former girlfriend (suspect) were involved in an argument at
her apartment in the 11500 block of Old River School Rd. because the male hand just ended
their relationship. The female suspect became angry and struck the victim in the head with a
hammer. The victim asked a neighbor to call the police. Officers arrived on scene and detained
the suspect in the parking lot of the apartment complex. DFD treated the victim and transported him to St. Francis. The victim sustained a laceration to his head and was later released from the hospital. The female was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

At 11:45 PM, officers were checking the area of Patton Rd and Firestone Blvd regarding a
stolen vehicle “hit” on the fixed “ALPR” when they saw the vehicle pull into the north parking lot of the Embassy Suites Hotel. The adult male driver was contact and arrested without incident.
