Crime Report, November 2017

FRIDAY, NOV. 3
At 8:00 a.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of 8400 Firestone Blvd. (CVS). The female driver was arrested for grand theft auto.

Officers conducted a DUI/CDL checkpoint on Imperial Hwy. at Rives Ave., which resulted in numerous citations being issued for a variety of violations. Two drivers were arrested for drunk driving and two drivers were arrested for possession of drugs.

SATURDAY, NOV. 4
At 2:30 p.m., an officer detained a male suspect for walking in traffic lanes on Firestone Blvd. and Ryerson Ave. The suspect then punched the officer in the face and fled on foot. The suspect was later located in a nearby apartment complex courtyard and appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The suspect was arrested for assaulting the police officer.

SUNDAY, NOV. 5
At 3:00 p.m., a male security guard at the Downey Landing crashed his security cart into a parked vehicle. The security guard then removed his clothing and ran around the parking lot naked. Officers arrested the guard for being under the influence of drugs.

At 10:30 p.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the Walmart parking lot at the Downey Promenade. The driver was arrested for grand theft auto.

SATURDAY, NOV. 11
At 1:30 a.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the parking lot at Firestone Blvd. and Rives Ave. South Gate Police Department responded and arrested the male driver, who was listed as the suspect in their report.

At 6:50 a.m., a male victim was standing to the front of 8716 Imperial Hwy. Three male suspects approached and one of them pointed a handgun at the victim. The suspect demanded the victim’s wallet and cell phone. The suspects then fled the location in an awaiting vehicle. Detectives are investigating.

SUNDAY, NOV. 12
At 8:15 a.m., officers responded to the 10800 block of Little Lake Rd. regarding an auto theft in progress. Officers located a female suspect inside the vehicle and arrested her for attempted grand theft auto.
