Crime Report - Nov. 7, 2016
Saturday, Oct. 29:
At 1:42 a.m., officers responded to the call of a stolen vehicle in the 9000 block of Apollo Way. They located the vehicle and the driver was arrested for grand theft auto.
At 3:30 p.m., officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle in the 9000 block of Apollo Way. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was arrested for grand theft auto. The driver is also being charged for possession of narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia.
At 6:00 p.m. two males assaulted an LA Fitness security guard after being asked to leave the premises. The suspects assaulted the security guard and stole his cell phone. The guard attempted to detain the men, but was further assaulted. One of the suspects was located nearby and arrested for robbery. The second suspect is still outstanding. Detectives are investigating.
At 9:15 p.m., gang officers contacted a suspect who was seated in a vehicle on the north side of Apollo Park. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a large caliber rifle with a sawed off buttstock. The suspect was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
At 11:35 p.m., officer responded to the 12800 block of Paramount Boulevard regarding shots fired in the area. Gang officers contacted the intoxicated suspect inside a liquor store and found him to be in possession of a 9mm handgun. They also located five spent 9mm casings in the area. The suspect was arrested and booked for reckless discharge of a firearm.
Sunday, Oct. 30:
At 9:03 a.m., officers responded to a call of a stolen vehicle in the 9000 block of Apollo Way. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for grand theft auto and the passenger was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
