Thursday, January 26:

At 2:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Elm Vista and Bellflower Blvd. regarding a vehicle that had been used in an armed robbery in L.A.P.D.’s jurisdiction. Officers located and stopped the vehicle to the front of 9200 Elm Vista Rd. The driver was arrested and L.A.P.D. responded to the scene.

At 3:00 p.m., a car pulled alongside a woman walking in the area of Florence Avenue and Downey Sanford Bridge Road. The occupants asked the woman for directions and then one occupant exited the vehicle and stole the woman’s jewelry and personal property. The suspects fled the location in the vehicle. Detectives are investigating.

At 6:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of the Downey Promenade regarding a stolen vehicle. The officers located the vehicle in the parking lot and arrested the driver for grand theft auto.

Friday, January 27:

Officers conducted a DUI/CDL checkpoint on Firestone Boulevard and Ryerson Avenue which resulted in numerous citations being issued for a variety of violations, including one subject arrested for DUI.
