Friday, Sept. 2: 

At 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a traffic accident with a downed Edison pole at Columbia
Way & Imperial exposing live electrical wires. Officers closed down Columbia Way between
Foster Road and Imperial Highway for several hours while Edison secured the power and
repaired the pole.

At 1:30 p.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the 11500 block of Lakewood Boulevard. The
driver ran from officers, but was caught a short distance away. The suspect, a 22-year-old man
from South Gate, was arrested for grand theft auto.

At 4:00 p.m., officers worked with representatives of Ocean Blue, Mental Health, and the Los
Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on cleaning abandoned debris from the Rio San Gabriel
River Channel and offering resources to any homeless people in the area.

At 6:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of Imperial & Woodruff regarding two females
involved in an argument. During the argument, one of the females assaulted the other with a knife, causing minor cuts to the victim’s arm and hand. The suspect was arrested without incident.

At 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the Stonewood Shopping Center regarding a suspicious male who was possibly selling narcotics. Officers located a subject matching the description and contacted him. During the contact officers found the suspect to be in possession of numerous baggies of cocaine and taken into custody without incident. The male was charged with possession of narcotics for sales, a felony.

Saturday, Sept. 3: 

At 1:00 p.m., officers responded to Apollo Park regarding a robbery. Officers located a male
victim who had been confronted by four males who assaulted him and stole his personal
property. The suspects were last seen running westbound on Imperial Highway. The victim
received minor injury from the assault, but did not require medical attention. Detectives are
investigating. 

Sunday, Sept. 4: 

At 9:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to a theft in progress in the 7900 block of Harper. The
victim had observed a man inside her car. Officers detained the man and determined he had
broken into the vehicle and was attempting to steal the radio. The suspect, a 20-year-old
Downey man, was arrested for burglary. 

Monday, Sept. 5: 

At 9:00 a.m., officers responded to the area of Firestone & Brookshire regarding a possible
stolen vehicle. They located a vehicle in the vicinity that was wanted in connection with an
attempt kidnapping and domestic violence. Officers stopped the vehicle and detained the
occupants. Ultimately, the named suspect was arrested and transferred to the custody of the
Norwalk Sheriff’s, where the crimes originated.
