Crime Report: 1/7/21

Dec. 30:

At approximately 1:30 pm, officers located a reported stolen vehicle parked in the 8000 block of Imperial Hwy, in a strip mall. Officers watched the vehicle for a short time before an adult female entered the vehicle. Officers detained the female in the vehicle without incident. During a search of the vehicle, a loaded handgun was located. The female was arrested and charged with auto theft.

Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred at about 7 pm in the 8500 block of Firestone Blvd. (Warehouse Shoe Store). The suspect, an adult male, entered the store and selected several high end items. As the male was leaving the store without paying, he was approached by a sales associate. The suspect pulled out a taser, activated it, and then ran out of the store. The sales associate was not struck or injured by the taser.

Jan. 1:

At approximately 10:30 am, officers responded to 159 Stonewood (Journey’s Shoes) regarding a report of a delayed robbery. Officers received information which led them to an apartment complex in the City of Bellflower. Officers located the suspect, detained him without incident and recovered the loss. The suspect was identified by witnesses and arrested for robbery.

Jan. 2:

Detectives are investigating an attempted carjacking that occurred at approximately 2:45 pm in the 9200 block of Lakewood Blvd.

The adult female victim was on a break, sitting in her vehicle to the rear of the location. The suspect vehicle pulled up with 3 suspects inside. An adult male suspect approached the victim and held a knife near the victim. The suspect demanded the keys to the victim’s vehicle or stated he would kill her.

The victim noticed a co-worker and yelled for help. The suspect fled to the awaiting suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle was last seen exiting onto Gallatin Rd.
