DOWNEY — City and county leaders will host a virtual meeting Thursday to discuss the controversial Restorative Care Village at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center.

Currently under construction, the project will create 130 beds for unhoused patients discharged from county hospitals.

Residents have raised concerns about the project’s potential impact on the surrounding neighborhood.

Thursday’s virtual meeting begins at 6 pm and will feature remarks from Supervisor Janice Hahn, Mayor Claudia M. Frometa, and others.
