DOWNEY – Downey City Manager Gilbert Livas will receive a pay raise mid-next year.

Livas’s current monthly salary is $23,470.89. With the raise, he will earn $23,954.67 per month, effective the pay period that includes July 1, 2021.

The 2% adjustment comes in direct response to a 2% cost of living increase that the Chief of Police position will receive on June 28, 2021.

Livas’ contract stipulates that he maintains a 5% total compensation differential over the next highest paid employee.

Personnel costs will increase by approximately $8,822.57 for fiscal year 2021-22.

The City Council unanimously  approved the salary increase last week.
