'Catch Me if You Can' hits Pantages

HOLLYWOOD - "Catch Me if You Can, based on the hit DreamWorks film, will play the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for a limited two-week engagement March 12-24."Catch Me if You Can" captures the astonishing true story of Frank Abagnale Jr., a world-class con artist who passed himself off as a doctor, lawyer and a jet pilot - all before the age of 21. With straight-arrow FBI agent Carl Hanratty on Frank's tail, the production sets off on a jet-setting, cat-and-mouse chase, as a jazzy, swinging-sixties score keeps the adventure in constant motion. In the end, Hanratty learns he and Frank aren't so very different after all, and Frank finds out what happens when love catches up to a man on the run. The Pantages theatre engagement follows the recent Broadway run, where the show received considerable acclaim. The New York Times exclaimed, "Hot diggity! This portrait of the con artist as a young man comes to ecstatic life. WOR Radio called it "absolutely marvelous" and proclaimed it "a real Broadway musical with showstoppers to enthrall just about everyone." "Catch Me if You Can" is based on Frank Abagnale's New York Times best-selling autobiography and the hit 2002 film of the same name directed by Steven Spielberg. The performance schedule for "Catch Me if You Can" is Tuesday through Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. It runs 2 hours and 30 minutes including intermission and is recommended for ages 10 and up. Orchestra level tickets start at $25. For tickets, go online to HollywoodPantages.com.
