DOWNEY -- A funeral service will be held today for Carmen E. Acevedo, a longtime Downey resident, who passed away Feb. 26 in Ontario. She was 74.She was born Nov. 21, 1934 in New York City. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today inside the Miller-Mies Chapel in Downey. Pastor Poncho Juarez of Calvary Chapel in Montebello will officiate. Burial will immediately follow the service at Resurrection Cemetery in Montebello. She is survived by a son, Paul; daughter, Cynthia; and grandchildren, Bryan, Brianna and Brandon.
