Buy a shamrock, help fight disease

DOWNEY -- Residents are encouraged to buy and sign $1 or $5 shamrock mobiles at local restaurants and supermarkets, with money helping to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association's outpatient clinic at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey.The clinic helps to fund neuromuscular disease research, send kids to MDA summer camp at Camp Palomar in San Diego, and more. Shamrocks Against Dystrophy is the nation's largest charitable campaign associated with St. Patrick's Day. The shamrock mobiles are available at several restaurants, markets, convenience stores, and other local retailers.
