Barbara Jane (Gazin) Neubauer

November 19, 1935 - December 8, 2021

Our beloved mother Barbara Jane (Gazin) Neubauer passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her children, on December 8, 2021, at the age of 86.

Barbara was born November 19, 1935, the youngest of three children, to Alice Tiffany Van Deusen and Charles Lewis Gazin.

She graduated Santa Monica High School as class valedictorian in 1953, and began raising her family in Santa Monica California. In 1964 the family moved to Camarillo California and was active in the St. Mary Magdalen Parrish. The family moved to Downey California in 1974 where Barbara lived for 47 years. Barbara graduated with high honors from Cerritos College where she studied computer science. She worked as a Systems Program Analyst, retiring from IBM Global Services.

Barbara was known for her legendary Christmas rolls, her volunteer work with youth organizations, and her beautiful, crocheted blankets which she made for so many.

Barbara is survived by her 10 children; Michael, James, Linda, Patricia, Mary, Peter, Margaret, Carolyn, Steven, and Robert; 23 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Barbara is preceded in death by her sister, Margaret; brother Chester; and grandchild Jonathan.
