"Two weeks ago, the Republican majority on the Costa Mesa City Council issued pink slips to half of the city's workforce, in spite of the Council's own studies that showed this misguided agenda will cost taxpayers more for outsourced services than for keeping the city's workforce. "One thing is clear - the City Council made a clear choice putting political ideology over the best interests of the people of Costa Mesa. The actions of these Republican elected officials run counter to their responsibility to promote public safety, operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
