DOWNEY - The Assistance League of Downey honored many of its volunteers at a luncheon last week at its chapter house.Assistance League volunteers play critical roles in the organization's philanthropic projects, including Christmastime giveaways at convalescent homes, running the Second Tyme Around Shop thrift store and operating the HOME (Housing of Medical Emergencies) campus at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. Luncheon guests included Alex Ambruso, Rachel Banda, Adele Burger, Noel Cantu, Gabriel Chelsea, Shawn Crogan, Jean Douglas, Jack Faust, Chuck Frey, Jay Gibson, Larry Lewis, Bill McCluskey, Doug Swain, Don Schmidt, Rich Vinckier, Greg Waskul and Lowell Mathis.
