Arliss Klauser Hoskins

July 1939 ~ November 2024

Arliss Hoskins, a longtime Downey resident passed away at the age of 85. Arliss was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Ella Holldorf and Edward Klauser. She was the oldest of three kids and arrived in Downey with her family in 1955. Arliss graduated from Downey High in the Class of 1958. She majored in Art at both Long Beach City College and Long Beach State. While she went to college she worked at U-Disco (drawing newspaper ads) and later at Autonetics which became North American Aviation. She met her husband, Hugh Hoskins, while working at NAA on the Apollo program. Arliss lived in Downey the rest of her lifetime, raising her children and caring for her mom and her in-laws along the way. She loved to shop and travel (Vegas buffets were a favorite!), and in her later years she dabbled in genealogy. She is survived by her daughter Lianne, her daughter in-law Bridgett, son-in-law Mark, and grandchildren Emily and Zachary.
